Arthritic
Pain and Rheumatoid Arthritis
Osteoarthritis
is characterized by a breakdown of the joint cartilage without swelling
or inflammation. As this cartilage is eaten away, the two bones
of the joint start rubbing together and wearing down.
In
contrast, rheumatoid arthritis is caused from a swelling and inflammation
of the synovial membraine, the lining of the joint. It's a painful
inflammatory condition of the joints marked by swelling, thickening,
and inflammation of the synovial membraine lining the joint. Rheumatoid
arthritis is classified as an autoimmune disease because it is caused
by the body's own immune system attacking the joints.
Factors
that can aggravate arthritis are:
-
Deficiences of minerals and other nutrients
-
Microbes and toxins
-
Lack of water intake
Essential
oils constitute some of the most effective treatments for combating
arthritis pain and infection in cases where it is present. Peppermint
has been studied for its ability to kill pain by blocking substance
P and calcium channels.
Natural
anti-inflammatories (blue chamomile, wintergreen) combined
with a cartilage builder (glucosamine/chrodroitin) are powerful
natural cures for arthritis. The best natural anti-inflammatories
include:
-
fats rich in omega-3s (Omega Blue)
- essential
oils such as wintergreen, and Idaho Balsam Fir
-
Nutmeg, a source of myristicin, has been researched for
its anti-inflammatory effects in several studies. It works by
inhibiting pro-inflammatory prosta-glandins when taken internally
or applied topically.
- Clove
exhibits similar action.
- Chamazulene,
the blue sesquiterpene in German (Blue) chamomile, also
shows strong anti-inflammatory activity when used both topically
and orally.
- Methyl
salicylate, a major component of wintergreen, is a chemical
cousin to the active agent in aspirin and also has strong anti-inflammatory
and analgesic properties.
The
best cartilage builders include Type II collagen and glucosamine
which is contained in BLM powder and capsules. Glucosamine and chondroitin
are the two most powerful natural compounds for rebuilding cartilege
and are the key ingredients in the Supplement BLM. Additionally,
MSM has been documented to be one of the most effective natural
supplements for reducing pain associated with rheumatism and arthritis.
The subject of a number of clinical studies, MSM was used extensively
by Ronald Lawrence, M.D., in his practice to successfully treat
rheumatism and arthritis. MSM is the key ingredient in the supplement
SULFURZYME.
In
cases where arthritis is caused by infectious organisms, such as
Borrelia burgdorferi, (Lyme Disease), Cyhlamydia and Salmonella,
essential oils may counteraact and prevent infection, especially
when diffused or applied topically. Highly antimicrobial essential
oils include:
- Melaleuca
alternifolia (tea tree)
- Mountain
savory
-
rosemary
- oregano
Modern
science reveals that the secret behind the successful use of wolfberry
for so many health benefits lies in its rich nutritional reservoirs.
Wolfberry is reputed for its benefical effects in the treatment
of immunodeficient disease such as rheumatoid arthritis; its anti-inflammatory
properties and antioxidants help detoxify the body and reduce swelling.
These essential fatty acids are needed, since the lack of omeg-3
fatty acids in the Western diet can cause inflammation and contribute
to arthritis. In addition to the essential fatty acids, wolfberry
also contains a high number of amino acids that aid in counteracting
inflammation in the body by fending off free-radical damage. The
amino acid L-arginine plays an important role in cell division,
the healing of wounds, inflammation control, and immune function.
The polysaccharides found in NingXia Wolfberry support proper cell
communication. Many published scientific studies address the connection
between cell-to-cell communication and autoimmune disease like AIDS,
rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes. NingXia wolfberry can help those
suffering from arthritis and other joint conditions to support normal
immune funcition, experience relief from pain, reduce swelling,
and gain energy. This is found in our NINGXIA RED juice.
