Lavendar
Oil (Lavandula Angustafolia)
For
restless leg syndrome, put 4 or 5 drops on your hands and rub the
bottom of your feet. Then cup my hands over my nose and deeply inhale
to help get back to sleep.
For
insomnia, rub some lavender on your chest and put a couple drops
on your tongue.
Lavender
is very calming and relaxing. It helps deal with the stress of travel,
especially on planes,
Lavender
is wonderful for burns and sunburn. Burns and Sunburn - Apply 1-3
drops on burn location to cool tissue and reduce inflammation. Apply
3-6 times daily or as needed.
After-Sun
Healing Spray
-
distilled water
-
aloe vera gel
- 8
drops of Lavender essential oil
-
2 drops of Roman Chamomile essential oil
- 2
drops Geranium essential oil
Blend
together and pour into a 12-16 ounce fine mist spray bottle. Spray
skin if you have been over exposed to the sun. This is very healing
and soothing to sunburned skin. Do not get any in eyes.
Personal
Experiences with Lavendar Oil
Sun
damage to my skin through the years has caused some pre-cancerous
spots of red, scaly skin to appear on my face. When my dermatologist
burns them off, he gives me instructions to use ointment to keep
them from blistering and scabbing over. The last time I went in,
I took my bottle of Lavendar oil and when his nurse handed me the
sample of ointment, I said "no thanks. I have my Lavendar oil."
I put a drop of oil on each burned spot and within a minute, all
the pain and redness was gone. She was astounded to see the redness
disappear so quickly. I gladly shared with her about Lavendar oil
and left her a sample! In the days following I applied Lavendar
to the spots twice a day and they healed without blistering or scabbing..
and they healed days faster than with the ointment.

My
favorite way to enjoy Lavender is in the evening in a cup of hot
water with some agave stirred in!! It's a wonderful prelude to a
good nights sleep!

I
often have trouble sleeping in hotel beds. It really helps to make
up a chamomile tea with 2 or 3 drops of lavender oil in it. Most
hotels offer chamomile tea with the coffee in your room. Drink it
before going to bed and you should have a nice peaceful sleep.

I
have used Lavender for many different challenges (good night's sleep,
drippy nose and especially burns). While making myself a Hot Fudge
Sundae one day, I accidentally tipped the jar slightly and hot,
bubbly fudge sauce coated all four fingers of my left hand. The
pain was unbelievable. I immediately rinsed off the fudge with cold
water. Then grabbed my bottle of Lavender and put a couple drops
on each finger and massaged it in. Almost, immediate relief. Two
hours later I repeated the Lavender and went to bed. In the morning,
all four fingers showed no signs of a burn. The skin was not pink
or tight with movement. I will always keep a bottle of Lavender
in the kitchen for burns and cuts and, of course, one bottle in
the bedroom for a peaceful sleep. Thank you for letting me share!

I
use Lavender on my kids burns and hurts all the time. Just a few
days ago, my two year old fell down and scraped his elbow. It was
skinned up and bleeding. I took him inside and put a drop or two
on the scrape and covered it with a bandaid. That night we removed
the bandaid and it looked like it was almost healed. There was a
scrape lower down his arm that was a comparable "hurt" a few days
older that never had the lavender applied to it. The older scrape
had a big ugly scab and looked like it had a few days still before
it would heal. What a difference! The new scrape with the lavender
was already almost gone. There is no scab on it, just darkened skin.
